  It was my daughter's first day, she was nervous and didn't want to draw attention to herself in any way so, she asked her mother to go by the office to pay her school fees. The secretary in the main office was very rude and would not accept the money. She said the home room teacher would collect fees from the students. It didn't make sense to me why she would not accept the money since I was already there. I tried explaining to her that it is my daughter's first year at Grafton and that she's very nervous about attending a new school. From that exchange she assumed that she was a 6th grader to which I corrected her that she's a 7th grader. She said the same goes for all of the grades, clearly she didn't get why mentioned she's a 7th grader. This secretary didn't care nor did she demonstrate any real concern for what I was saying to her. She then said she doesn't have change, assuming she already knew how much my daughter's fees were so, I say to her if I had correct change would you accept the money; she asks me to wait outside on the bench while she go check. It became clear to me that I was dealing with a mean spirited individual and so I left, I left hoping that my daughter's experience with her new school will be far better than her mother's experience thus far. Otherwise, her mother has made a poor choice of sending her daughter to Grafton Middle! It is sad that we're are living in a time where people are genuinely rude and uncaring about others and that it is ok to be that way people. Well, it's not okay, which is why I'm writing this post.
